The grace message is spreading all over the world. More people are talking about grace. Although we are still in our early days, the Grace Commentary is already read in more than 200 countries.
But what about cities? Is grace taking root in particular locations? Where do grace folk live?
There are no easy ways to answer these questions, but we can get a rough picture by looking at the distribution of Grace Commentary readers.
I got WordPress to generate a list of the top 100 cities as measured by readers. Here are the top ten:
- Hanover, Germany
- Makati, the Philippines
- Atlanta, USA
- Dallas, USA
- Chicago, USA
- London, UK
- Johannesburg, RSA
- Tampa, USA
- Dubai, UAE
- Seattle, USA
Several questions immediately spring to mind, like why are there so many Grace Commentary readers in Germany? And what’s happening in Hanover? I have no idea. Maybe some of my readers can tell me in the comments. Other German cities to make the list of top 100 cities include Friedrichshafen, Dortmund, Nuremberg, and Frankfurt.
Unsurprisingly, the USA dominates the list with about 70 cities in the top 100. (I dismissed the top two cities because they were Fort Wayne and Poughkeepsie! My guess is these are routing data-centers.) The biggest centers are the ones you’d expect: Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco and several cities within the NYC area.
The Philippines has six cities in the top 100, and most of them are located in the Metro Manila area. Outside of the Philippines, the most prominent Asian cities are Miri, Singapore, Beijing, and Hong Kong.
Australia has four cities in the top 100: Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth. (Adelaide, where are ya?) New Zealand has two: Auckland and Tauranga.
South Africa has three cities in the top 100: Jo’burg, Cape Town, and Durban. The only other African city to make the top 100 is Lusaka.
What conclusions can we draw from this exercise?
It’s fair to say that Grace Commentary readers are scattered all over the world but the largest concentrations are found in the USA, Germany, and the Philippines.
It will be interesting to repeat this exercise again in a few years to see if other cities have broken into the top 100.
