About the Grace Commentary

Some years ago, I began compiling notes on Bible scriptures to help me with my preaching and writing. Those notes have grown to thousands of pages covering thousands of scriptures, and I want to share them with you.

Welcome to the Grace Commentary!

This commentary is my attempt to offer a uniquely grace-based view of scripture. Here you will find no condemnation, no criticism, and none of the traditional calls for blood, sweat, and tears. My focus is on Jesus—who he is, what he has done, and what you can do because of what he has done. Want to know more about God’s amazing grace? Check out my Grace Highlights page.

If you have enjoyed my articles and books, I know you will love The Grace Commentary. My hope is that this site will help you and your family discover all the good things that God has in store for you. You are more than welcome to share the material here with your friends, church, Sunday School class, and whoever you like.

Fair warning: The commentary is a work in progress. Although I will be adding new material regularly, it’s going to take time to fill in the gaps. Want a glimpse of the finished product? Check out the three books of 1-3 John or the first three chapters of Revelation, which are more or less complete.
