Kisah Para Rasul 5:1
Tetapi seorang lelaki bernama Ananias, bersama isterinya Safira, menjual sebidang tanah,
Kisah Ananias dan Safira merisaukan soalan-soalan yang tidak terjawab. Bagaimana mereka mati? Mengapa mereka mati? Apa yang kita pelajari daripada kisah mereka? Kekurangan kejelasan tentang isu-isu ini telah membuka pintu untuk semua jenis tafsiran seperti, Tuhan membunuh mereka untuk menunjukkan teladan dan menakutkan gereja baru. Walau bagaimanapun, terdapat banyak masalah dengan tafsiran ini, seperti yang akan kita lihat.
Kisah Para Rasul 5:2

Kisah Para Rasul 5:3

(a) Satan filled your heart to lie. The temptation to lie came from the father of lies. It did not come from the Spirit of Truth and it did not come from Ananias himself. “Satan filled your heart” means Satan fed him a lie and Ananias swallowed it. He never tested the spirits (see 1 John 4:1).
(b) Berbohong kepada Roh Kudus. Here we have a story of two liars: Peter lied about knowing the Lord (and with an oath; Matt. 26:72) while Ananias lied about how much money he had earned on the sale of some land. Surely Peter’s lie was worse, yet Peter framed Ananias’s lie as deadly serious. “You have lied to God” (see next verse).
Kisah Para Rasul 5:4
“Sementara ia masih tidak terjual, bukankah ia tetap milik anda? Dan selepas ia dijual, bukankah ia di bawah kawalan anda? Mengapakah anda menyimpan perbuatan ini di dalam hati anda? Kamu tidak berdusta kepada manusia melainkan kepada Allah.”
Anda tidak berbohong kepada lelaki. Peter muncul sebagai peguam pendakwa yang memeriksa balas seorang penjenayah.
Kisah Para Rasul 5:5
Dan ketika dia mendengar perkataan ini, Ananias jatuh dan menghembuskan nafasnya yang terakhir; dan ketakutan yang besar menimpa semua orang yang mendengarnya.
(a) Semasa dia mendengar kata-kata ini. Kata-kata Petrus nampaknya telah menjadi pemangkin kepada kematian Ananias, tetapi bagaimanakah lelaki itu mati? Ada yang berkata, "Tuhan membunuhnya," tetapi Bible tidak mengatakan perkara itu. Kemungkinan besar Ananias diserang angin ahmar atau serangan jantung yang dicetuskan oleh kata-kata kecaman Peter.
(b) Ananias jatuh. Mereka yang menegaskan bahawa Tuhan membunuh Ananias dan isterinya tidak dapat memberikan alasan yang memuaskan mengapa Tuhan melakukan perkara sedemikian. “Tuhan membunuh mereka kerana mereka berdosa.” Namun Yesus pergi ke salib dengan menanggung dosa dunia, termasuk dosa Ananias dan Safira. Bagaimanakah Tuhan yang adil boleh menghukum dosa yang sama dua kali? Dan mengapa Tuhan akan membunuh satu pasangan dan membiarkan semua orang berdosa yang lain?
“Tuhan membunuh Ananias dan Safira untuk memberi amaran dan menyucikan gereja yang masih kecil. Dengan membuat contoh daripada orang-orang munafik ini, gereja akan dipenuhi dengan ketakutan yang kudus dan terpelihara daripada pendusta dan penipu.” Jika ya, Tuhan gagal dengan hebat. Pembohong, penipu dan munafik sentiasa bersama kita, dan terdapat banyak dalam gereja Perjanjian Baru.
“Tuhan mengatur pembunuhan ini untuk menetapkan otoritas para rasul-Nya.” Tidak kisah bahawa Petrus telah ditugaskan oleh Tuhan dan dipenuhi dengan Roh Kudus. Seperti seorang kanak-kanak yang melalui permulaan samseng dia terpaksa membunuh seseorang untuk menubuhkan bona fidenya. Sungguh tidak masuk akal! Betapa tidak konsisten dengan mesej yang telah ditugaskan kepada Petrus untuk memberitakan.

Kisah Para Rasul 5:8
Dan Petrus menjawabnya, "Katakanlah kepadaku, apakah kamu menjual tanah itu dengan harga yang demikian itu?" Dan dia berkata, "Ya, itulah harganya."
Safira mengulangi pembohongan yang diucapkan oleh suaminya.
Kisah Para Rasul 5:9
Kemudian Petrus berkata kepadanya, “Mengapa kamu bersepakat untuk menguji Roh Tuhan? Lihatlah, kaki orang yang telah menguburkan suamimu ada di depan pintu, dan mereka akan membawa engkau keluar juga."
Peter told Ananias that he had lied to the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3) and he had lied to God (Acts 5:4), but he told Sapphira that she had diuji the Lord. Such an accusation would have been terrifying to a Jewish woman raised on the laws of Moses. “You shall not put the Lord your God to the test” (Deut. 6:16).
Sapphira tidak bersalah. Dia datang ke mesyuarat itu dengan mengetahui bahawa dia telah berbohong. Hati nuraninya bersalah dan hatinya berdebar-debar. Kemudian lelaki yang paling berkuasa dalam Susunan Kristen memberitahunya bahawa suaminya telah mati sebelum mengutuknya sebagai pelanggar hukum di mata Tuhan. Kisah Para Rasul 5:10
Dan seketika itu juga ia tersungkur di depan kakinya dan menghembuskan nafasnya, lalu masuklah orang-orang muda itu dan mendapati dia sudah mati, lalu mereka membawanya keluar dan menguburkannya di samping suaminya.
Serta-merta dia jatuh di kakinya. Seperti suaminya, Safira meninggal dunia selepas mendengar kata-kata kutukan Petrus, dan orang beragama telah menyalahkan Tuhan atas kematiannya sejak itu.
Tuhan tidak dan tidak boleh membunuh Ananias dan Safira – bukan tanpa melakukan kerosakan yang tidak dapat diperbaiki kepada mesej salib (lihat kemasukan for Acts 5:5). Either God is no longer holding our sins against us (2 Cor. 5:19), or he is.
If we must blame anyone for their deaths, let us blame sin. Sin kills people (Rom. 6:23). The strength of sin is the law (1 Cor. 15:56). When Peter spoke words of condemnation over the lying couple, he inflamed the sin that was already tearing them apart. “You lied to God. You tested the Spirit of the Lord. You will die.” Peter was acting like an old covenant judge, and the result was death and fear.
Kisah Para Rasul 5:11
Dan ketakutan yang besar menimpa seluruh jemaat, dan atas semua orang yang mendengar tentang perkara ini.
(a) Ketakutan yang besar. The immediate effect of the deaths of Ananias and Sapphira was great fear. This was not the healthy reverential-awe type fear of God that we read about in Acts 9:31 and 10:35; this was plain vanilla terror resulting from the fact that two people had dropped dead. But where was this fear directed? Some translations say the “fear of God” came over the church, but this is not what the original text says. It simply says great fear. People were afraid of going to Peter’s church (Act 5:13).
(b) Church. Although Jesus mentioned the church on a couple of occasions (Matt. 16:18, 18:17), this is the first time the church is mentioned as an entity in the Bible. As the corporate body of Spirit-filled believers, the church came into existence on the Day of Pentecost.
Acts 5:12
At the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were taking place among the people; and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s portico.

Acts 5:14
And all the more believers in the Lord, multitudes of men and women, were constantly added to their number,

Acts 5:16
Also the people from the cities in the vicinity of Jerusalem were coming together, bringing people who were sick or afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all being healed.
All being healed. Jesus healed every sick person who came to him (Matt. 8:16, 12:15, Luke 6:19, Acts 10:38). The early church experienced similar results.
Kisah Para Rasul 5:20
“Pergilah, berdirilah dan sampaikan kepada orang-orang di dalam Bait Allah seluruh berita tentang Kehidupan ini.”
(a) The temple had been a place of hostility towards Christ, but the Lord of grace did not destroy it with fire and brimstone. He made it ground zero for the gospel and the birthplace of the new church. See kemasukan for Acts 2:46.
(b) Seluruh mesej Kehidupan ini. Apabila kita memberitakan Injil, kita memberitahu orang ramai tentang kehidupan baru yang Yesus tawarkan kepada semua orang.
(c) Hidup ini. Beberapa Bible menambah kata sifat baharu seperti dalam ini baru kehidupan untuk menunjukkan bahawa zoe-kehidupan yang kita terima daripada Tuhan tidak seperti kehidupan lama yang kita warisi daripada Adam.
“To give us eternal life” is the answer to the question, why did Jesus come (John 3:16, 10:28, Rom 6:4, 1 Tim. 1:16). Jesus did not come principally to free us from sin or to give us a new nature. He came to give us a new life which includes those other things. “I have come that they may have (zoe) life” (John 10:10).

Acts 5:28
saying, “We gave you strict orders not to continue teaching in this name, and yet, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.”
Filled Jerusalem. The city that rejected Jesus, because the first harvest field for the gospel.
Jesus did not wash his hands of Jerusalem. Nor did he tell his apostles to give the city a wide berth. Instead, he designated the city Mission Field Number One. The apostles did what he asked, and their teaching spread all over Jerusalem. The result was nothing short of miraculous. The city that had rejected the Lord began to change, and the number of Christians in Jerusalem increased greatly (Acts 2:41, 4:4, 5:14, 6:1, 7).
Kisah Para Rasul 5:31
“Dialah yang telah ditinggikan Allah di sebelah kanan-Nya sebagai Raja dan Juruselamat, untuk memberikan pertobatan dan pengampunan dosa kepada Israel.
(a) Exalted to His right hand. The Son shares his Father’s throne; see kemasukan for Matt. 22:44.
(b) Untuk memberikan taubat. Repentance and faith are two sides of the same coin, and both are a gift from God (Eph. 2:8).
The gospel of grace that comes wrapped in faith. When we hear the good news of Jesus the exalted Savior, our faith is activated (Rom. 10:17). It is goodness of God revealed in Jesus the exalted Savior that leads us to change our unbelieving minds and repent (Rom. 2:4).
(c) Savior or deliverer; see kemasukan for Luke 2:11.
(d) Pengampunan. Perkataan asal (aphesis) untuk pengampunan ialah kata nama yang kadangkala diterjemahkan sebagai pengampunan dan bermaksud pelepasan atau pemecatan (lihat kemasukan for Luke 24:47).
(e) Pengampunan dosa. All your sins – past, present, and future – were dealt with on the cross (Heb. 9:26). In Christ, you have the forgiveness of sins (Col. 1:14). In him, you are completely and eternally forgiven according to the riches of his grace (Eph. 1:7).
On the night he rose from the dead, Jesus instructed his disciples to preach the good news of the complete forgiveness or remission of all sins (Luke 24:47). After the cross, the apostles described forgiveness in the past tense and as a gift to receive (see kemasukan for Acts 13:38).
Acts 5:33
But when they heard this, they were cut to the quick and intended to kill them.
Kill them. By persecuting Jesus and plotting to kill the apostles, the religious Jews showed they were more than ready to engage in the politics of violence as practiced by the Romans. They weren’t interested in a new kingdom built on love and forgiveness. They were driven by hatred and a lust for power, and they were ready to murder all who got in their way (see kemasukan for Acts 7:57).
Acts 5:42
And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they kept right on teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.
(a) The temple which had been so hostile to Christ, became the birthplace of the early church. See kemasukan for Acts 2:46.
(b) Teaching. Biblical teaching is the ability to reveal Jesus the Living Word of God (Acts 4:2, 13:12, 15:35, 18:11, 28:31, Col. 3:16). Teaching also includes the ability to unpack the scriptures (Acts 2:42).
(c) Preaching. Announcing the good news of Jesus.
In the New Testament, three words are commonly translated as “preaching.” The original word here (euaggelizo) is closely related to the word for gospel (euaggelion) and is used frequently (e.g., Luke 8:1, 9:6, 20:1, Acts 8:4, 12, 25, 40, 10:36, 11:20, 15:35, 17:18, Gal. 1:9, 23). Other words for preaching include words that mean to proclaim or herald (kerusso, e.g., Matt. 3:1, Mark 1:4, 7, 14, 39, Luke 3:3, 4:44, Acts 20:25, 28:31, Rom. 10:8, Php. 1:15) and proclamation (kerugma, e.g., Matt. 12:41, Luke 11:32, Rom. 16:25, 1 Cor. 2:4, 15:14).
