Mga misteryo ng Diyos

The mysteries of God refer to the purposes of God and the realities of his kingdom which remain unknown to the natural mind but which are revealed to his children (1 Cor. 2:11–14). Those who reject Jesus, reject the Source of all spiritual wealth (Col. 2:3). But those who receive Jesus, receive the Spirit of Christ who teaches us all things (John 14:26, 1 Cor. 2:10).

The mysteries of the kingdom are simply the realities of God’s kingdom (Matt. 13:11, Mark 4:11, Luke 8:10). They are the answers to questions such as what is God like and does he care about us? When Jesus said, “The kingdom of heaven is like…” he was explaining the mysteries of the kingdom. Those who believed Jesus, accepted what he said and understood the mysteries of the kingdom (John 7:17).

The mystery of Christ refers God’s plan to bring us into spiritual union with himself through his Son (see entry for Col. 1:27). This reconciliation plan is for both Jews and Gentiles alike (Eph. 3:4–6).

The mystery of the gospel, which is also known as the mystery of faith (1 Tim. 3:9) and the mystery of godliness (1 Tim. 3:16), is that God is with us and for us and desires to be in spiritual union in us (Col. 1:27). Religion portrays God as distant and aloof, but Jesus Christ reveals a God who loves us like a Father and wants to share his life with all of us, both Jew and Gentile alike (Eph. 3:4–6).
