Matthew 28:1
Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave.

Matthew 28:5

The women. At least three womb were at the tomb: Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome (Mark 16:1). It’s possible that Joanna was also there along with another unnamed woman (see Luke 24:10).
Matthew 28:14
“And if this should come to the governor’s ears, we will win him over and keep you out of trouble.”
The governor’s ears. The soldiers entrusted with guarding the tomb were Roman soldiers, rather than temple guards.
Matthew 28:19
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
(sebuah) Make disciples. The original verb mathēteuō means “to teach.” Jesus instructed his disciples to teach all nations, not just the Jews.

(c) All the nations. The world of Biblical times was highly segregated. The Jews were prejudiced towards women, Gentiles, and sinners; the Greeks were prejudiced towards barbarians (non-Greeks), and the Romans were prejudiced towards slaves and non-citizens. In contrast, Jesus received everyone without regard for their race, gender or status. He said his kingdom was like a dragnet cast into the sea gathering fish of every kind (Matt. 13:47), and he commissioned his disciples to make disciples of all nations. In contrast with the fallen kingdoms of this world, the kingdom of God welcomes people from every tribe and nation (Acts 2:5, 10:35, Rom. 10:12, Gal. 3:28, Eph. 2:13, Col. 3:11, Rev. 7:9, 14:6).
(d) In the name of the Father. We don’t baptize in the name of the Creator or the Almighty, but God the Father. This is the name of God that Jesus came to reveal.

Matthew 28:20
teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
(sebuah) Teaching them. The kingdom is not advanced through education, but through the proclamation of the gospel. God calls and we come (1 Pet. 2:9). We speak and they hear and believe (Rom. 10:17).
(b) All that I commanded. His commandment is that we believe in his name (1 John 3:23). In the old covenant, obedience meant following a long list of laws. But in the new covenant, obedience is the fruit of trusting Jesus.
Notice that Jesus does not say “all that Moses commanded,” but “all that I commanded.” There is a difference. The commands of Moses are burdensome, but the commands of Christ are not burdensome (1 John 5:3). The yoke of Moses is heavy (Act 15:10), but Jesus’ yoke is light (Matt. 11:30). The Law of Moses ministers death (2 Cor. 3:7), but the words of Jesus impart life (John 5:24, 6:63, 68).
Jesus said, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments” (John 14:15) and “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word” (John 14:23). When you know how much Jesus loves you, he is easy to trust and obey. His great love for us inspires us to trust him.
In the new covenant, obedience follows trust, and we trust him because we know his love. However, someone with an old covenant mindset reverses the order: “If you wish to earn his love, you must keep his commandments.” Perversely, this mindset will have the very opposite effect as it will cause you to trust in yourself while alienating you from Christ (Gal. 5:4).
(c) I am with you always. Jesus said the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit abide or make their home with us (John 14:16–17, 23). Home means home. You are not a motel room for the Lord. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit and he will never leave you (Heb. 13:5). Jesus promises to be us to the utter end.
