Hebreus 2:1

Por isso, devemos prestar muito mais atenção ao que ouvimos, para não nos desviarmos dele.

Paul said he preached so that the Gentiles would “hear the word of the gospel and believe” (Acts 15:7), and John said he wrote his Gospel so that readers might believe that Jesus is the Son of God (John 20:31). The apostles preached for a verdict.

Como grupo, os judeus rejeitaram a graça de Deus por meio de sua incredulidade (ver entrada for Rom. 11:20). The author warns them to heed what they have heard (Heb. 4:2).

(c) Para que não nos afastemos. Jesus the Savior stands mid-river catching all who would be rescued. We need to pay attention lest we glide right by him towards the falls. (We can be sure the context is salvation because of Hebrews 2:3.)

Hebrews 2:2

For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty,

(uma) Angels. The Jews believed that the law had been passed down by angels (Acts 5:53, Gal. 3:19). This is why the author has just spent the previous chapter showing that Jesus is greater than the angels (Heb. 1:4–5, 13). He’s saying, “If those who ignored the angel’s message (the law) were punished, how shall we escape if we ignore the salvation revealed in this greater message (the gospel) by a greater mediator (Jesus)?”

(b) Transgression. The original noun (parabasis) means overstepping and can be translated as transgression (1 Tim. 2:14), violation (Rom. 4:15), offense (Rom. 5:14) or breaking the law (Rom. 2:23). It is related to the verb (parabaino) that means transgressing or going beyond.

Hebreus 2:3

The book of Hebrews is full of warnings to those who have not yet put their faith in Jesus. “How shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation?” (Heb. 2:3). “Do not harden your hearts” (Heb. 3:8). “Take care, that none of you has an evil, unbelieving heart” (Heb. 3:12). “Do not turn away from him who warns from heaven” (Heb. 12:25).

(b) salvação. The original word means deliverance or rescue. Jesus is the great Deliverer who rescues us from our enemies (Luke 1:71). See entrada para a Salvação.

(c) Primeiro falado através do Senhor. A palavra ou mensagem dita pelo Senhor é maior do que a palavra ou lei dita pelos anjos. Se houve consequências em ignorar o último, as consequências de ignorar o primeiro devem ser maiores.

(d) Confirmado para nós por aqueles que ouviram. Os apóstolos ouviram as boas novas de Jesus e as transmitiram.

Hebrews 2:4

God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders and by various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will.

(uma) Miracles are supernatural phenomena that are attributable to a spiritual cause, such as the agency of the Holy Spirit. See entrada for Matt. 11:20.

(b) Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Spiritual gifts include wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, speaking in tongues, and interpreting tongues (1 Cor. 12:8–10).

Hebreus 2:9

Mas vemos aquele que foi feito um pouco menor do que os anjos, a saber, Jesus, por causa do sofrimento da morte coroado de glória e honra, para que pela graça de Deus pudesse provar a morte por todos.

A graça de Deus refere-se à boa vontade, bondade e favor de Deus que nos é dado gratuitamente para que possamos participar de sua vida divina. Ver entrada pela Graça de Deus.

Hebrews 2:10

For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings.

(uma) salvação. The original word means deliverance or rescue. Jesus is the great Deliverer who rescues us from our enemies (Luke 1:71). See entrada para a Salvação.

(b) All things. All of creation including the heavens and the earth (Eph. 1:10).

Hebreus 2:11

Pois tanto Aquele que santifica como aqueles que são santificados são todos de um Pai; por isso não se envergonha de chamá-los irmãos,

(uma) Aquele que santifica. Jesus te faz santo.

We are holy and sanctified because Jesus makes us so. “For by one offering he has perfected for all time those who are sanctified” (Heb. 10:14). Through an act of his will and by the sacrifice of his body you have been sanctified for all time (Heb. 10:10).

(b) Aqueles que são santificados. Cristãos, em outras palavras (ver entrada for Acts 26:18).

(d) Chame-os de irmãos. Jesus te considera família. Todo cristão é um santo irmão ou uma santa irmã de Jesus, o Santo.

Hebreus 2:15

e pudesse libertar aqueles que pelo medo da morte estiveram sujeitos à escravidão por toda a vida.

(uma) Medo da morte. A humanidade foi atormentada pelo medo da morte.

(b) Sujeito à escravidão. Because of Adam’s disobedience, humanity ended up enslaved to sin and condemned to die (Rom. 5:12, 19). But Last Adam has broken the prison of sin and removed the sting of death.

Hebreus 2:16

Pois certamente Ele não ajuda os anjos, mas ajuda o descendente de Abraão.

(uma) Ele não dá ajuda aos anjos. Jesus é o Salvador da humanidade. Ele veio nos ajudar.

(b) Ele dá ajuda. Deus é nosso grande ajudante. Ver entrada for Heb. 13:6.

(c) O descendente de Abraão. Jesus is the Savior of the world, but only those who share the faith of Father Abraham are aided and saved (Rom. 4:11–12).

Hebreus 2:17

Portanto, ele teve que ser semelhante a seus irmãos em todas as coisas, para que se tornasse um sumo sacerdote misericordioso e fiel nas coisas referentes a Deus, para fazer propiciação pelos pecados do povo.

(uma) Feito como Seus irmãos em todas as coisas. Jesus was fully man and as such was tempted in all things as we are (Heb. 4:15).

Este versículo destrói a doutrina da depravação total de Calvino. (A depravação total diz que somos pecadores natos, incapazes de buscar ou obedecer a Deus.) Jesus foi feito como nós em todos os aspectos. Como Jesus não era depravado, nós também não somos – pelo menos não ao nascer.

(b) Misericordioso. Jesus is our compassionate high priest who knows what we are going through and is able to help us in our trials and temptations (Heb. 2:18, 4:16).

Propiciação significa literalmente apaziguado ou satisfeito. Por causa de Jesus, as exigências da justiça foram plenamente satisfeitas. Antes da cruz, o mundo estava sob a condenação do pecado. Mas Jesus suportou o castigo do pecado e a sentença de morte foi removida.

Propitiation is the new covenant alternative to old covenant atonement. In the old covenant, sins were atoned for or covered up. They weren’t forgiven or removed because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins (Heb. 10:4). Those old covenant sacrifices were a shadow of a reality that was fulfilled in Jesus’ matchless sacrifice.

Since your sins were carried away at the cross, no further sacrifice is needed (Heb. 10:12). This means there is nothing you can do to add the perfection of Christ’s sacrifice. If God is satisfied with the Son, let us be satisfied too.
